Popular American rapper Jay Z is all shades of proud papa during an interview with talk show host David Letterman. The rapper was seen gushing about his 6-year-old daughter Blue Ivy on the new Netflix talk show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. The rapper and father of three who also opened up about cheating on his wife Beyonce during the interview, shared the most beautiful thing his daughter Blue Ivy ever told him. He narrated an incident where she expressed that he had hurt her feelings the way he spoke to her while he was driving her to school.
Jay Z said: : “I told her to get in the car the other day because she was asking a thousand questions and we had to leave for school. We’re driving and then I just hear a little voice (say), ‘Dad,’ I turn around and she said, ‘I didn’t like when you told me to get in the car the way you told me… It hurt my feelings’.” He further said: “I looked at her and said that’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.” While addressing his high-profile infidelity and how he and his wife worked things out, the rapper revealed that he has a wife who is understanding.
Jay Z stated that they worked it out by going to therapy, adding that they both put in a lot of work because they love each other.
The rapper said: “For a lot of us, we don’t have, especially where I grew up and men in general, we don’t have emotional cues from when we’re young,” he argued. “Our emotional cues are ‘Be a man, stand up, don’t cry!’ I want to have the emotional tools that it takes to keep my family together. I have a beautiful wife who’s understanding and knew I’m not the worst of what I’ve done. We did the hard work of going to therapy and you know, we love each other, right? So we really put in the work. “I like to believe we’re in a better place today. But we’re still working and communicating and growing. And I’m proud of the father and the husband that I am today because of all the work that was done. I now know I’m a different person and my worst fear is not coming to pass.”
