It’s been 12 weeks of excitement, pain, disappointments and surprises on Ghana’s Most Beautiful(GMB) 2017 and it will all come to an end on Sunday, November 19, when one lucky beauty takes home the crown.
This year’s edition, which is also the 11th season, has the tagline “Straight Outta Ghana” and TV3 has tried to live up to that by challenging the ladies to educate audiences on some ‘hidden’ facts about the different cultures in the country.
Last Sunday, November 5, was the last live studio show of the competition and it ended fittingly for many people as Volta Region’s Edem was sent home.
For weeks, Edem had escaped eviction after consistent poor performances but her luck ran out this time and commentary on social media showed people were happy she was bowing out of the show.
The theme for Sunday was: “Children’s Upbringing” and the queens had fun playing various motherly roles.
For the second week in a row, Nana won the Star Performer award for her act where she educated her teenage daughter who was entering boarding school for the first time on the dos and don’ts as well as the possible dangers.
Zeinab was a pregnant woman who educated expectant mothers on taking nutrition seriously among others topics. She was the most disciplined contestant for the week.
Baaba was the mother of a three-year-old who had been sexually abused and she cautioned mothers not to neglect their duties while Edem stormed into the school of her eight-year old to address excessive spanking as a form of correcting children in Ghanaian schools.
Serwaa gave career advice to her 18-year old son who was not sure of what he wanted to do. She walked away with the Most Eloquent title.
Baaba, Nana, Zeinab and Serwaa will battle for the crown, the cash and the car and the competition is expected to be fierce.
