Forget Work! “I Have To Meet Stonebwoy.” – South African Rapper

South African rapper, Nasty C badly wants to meet Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy.

The former revealed on Starr Drive on Starr 103.5 FM Monday afternoon that he loves the energy of the ‘Mama’ artiste.

“I have to meet Stonebwoy. Forget work, even if we don’t work, I just have to meet him, just like his energy,” explained the ‘Phases’ rapper to host Giovani Caleb.

“I like people like that. Positivity, just growing, helping people and really in tune with his music. His music is about his life.”

Nasty was one of two foreign artistes who performed at the 2018 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. He will leave Ghana for his South African base on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

Stonebwoy recently made history by winning the ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ at the Ghana Music Awards for four consecutive times.

Epistles of Mama’ by Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy peaked at the number thirteen spot on BillBoard’s World Chart.

It is the first album by a Ghanaian artiste based in Ghana to achieve the feat based on sales data compiled by Nielsen Music.

The album was released on December 12, 2017.

Sean Paul, Burna Boy, Sarkodie, Efya, King Promise, Edem and Joey B are some of the artistes featured on the album. The double disk project is made up of 24 songs – 12 Dancehall/Reggae songs and 12 Afrobeat songs.

“It’s inspired by the good morals, the teachings, the lessons, the anguish and the smiles of life. All the important things in life which are passed on to us by our mothers.” explained Stonebwoy during an album listening session at Red Bull studios in the UK.

The album is dedicated to the memory of his mother, Catherine Satekla, who died in 2015.

It was ranked as the second best album in the reggae/Dancehall world last year.

The ranking was done by readers of Reggaeville, the world’s biggest gathering of reggae lovers and fans on the internet.

Chronixx’s ‘Chronology‘ was the first on the list.

Stonebwoy became the second Ghanaian Grammy nominee after an album he was featured on earned a nomination at the 2018 Grammys.

‘Avrakedabra‘ by Morgan Heritage was nominated in the ‘Best Reggae Album‘ category at the awards scheme.

The ‘Hero‘ act was featured on ‘Reggae Night (GlobalRemix) off the album released on May 19, 2017. He joined the group during their Europe Tour in 2015.

He is the only African artiste to perform at the 2018 edition of SummerJam, an European reggae festival. TY Dolla $ign, Ziggy Marley, and Tarrus Riley are some of the A-list artistes who will also be performing at the event.
